Rangoli Indian
Rangoli Indian- Sofitel Hotel – Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt – Red Sea
Sofitel Indian restaurant Rangoli is set high up on one of the many terrace levels of the Sofitel hotel, providing excellent panoramic views of Naama Bay and the Red Sea. The tables outside provide the best ambiance and romantic setting.
The inside restaurant is quite small, but still retains a nice atmosphere with a suitable distance between tables, although the lighting is a little bright for a tĂȘte a tĂȘte. The menu is not vast, but has quality items of starters, famous curry dishes, and all well known side dishes and breads to make the perfect Indian meal.
Service is excellent with the staff well trained, but not intrusive. A nice touch is the poppodoms and mix of pickles served while you look at the menu.
Indian food is very much down to personal preference for spiciness, however the lamb Rogan Josh is tender and very tasty, and the onion bhaji for starters are crisp on the outside and soft inside. Local wines are available and the price for a meal for two would be mid-range considering it is part of a four star hotel.
Afterwards take the opportunity of a stroll back to Naama Bay along the coastline walk-way, far better than hurtling back in a taxi on the main road.
